Where did the idea come from?
"When I began offering conversation sessions, I thought I was simply helping people improve their English. I gradually realised something much more interesting was happening. Every conversation introduced me to another life, another community and another way of seeing the world. Many of the projects on this website began with people I would never otherwise have met.

Inspirations
This project was inspired by the projects of my students
I decided to offer free English conversation in exchange for a simple donation. No more than you would pay or want to pay for a lesson on line.
Some students have projects or which I admire and I am pleased to offer my conversation as a small contribution to their project
Other students may be interested in projects which I myself am just starting. In particular I hope to create a gardening project for school children in my home town in France.
My inspiration in general is the work of Rutger Bregman and his association "The school of Moral Ambition." In summary he invites people with particular skills to put them to use. My "skill" is that I speak English naturally and I have a large bank of experience teaching second language learners.
If you have a project or a charity you support please let me know. If you would like to support my school project I am afraid you will need to wait a short time for the details to be published. Please continue to book lessons and be patient for my project to advance.

Dedication Page
This site and the work I am currently involved in, the conversation classes and the projects which evolve from them, are dedicated to the memory of a close friend of mine, Jim Windsor 1951-2023.
He worked in education in both his native country, England, and in France where he became an Inspector at the Bordeaux Academy. His priority was always to support the pupils he worked with especially those who found school difficult for social or educational reasons.
Sadly he died soon after retiring but we were able to share a common interest in growing organic vegetables on a plot near our town.
It is for this reason that I include in my list of possible donation sources the website of Cancer Research UK which works hard to put an end to this disease which resulted in his and many other premature deaths.
It is simply an option. the same cause may well be more easily supported by a charity based in your country.
