Jon Stamell, Chairman 

Jon Stamell has spent more than twenty-five years in market research, strategic planning and marketing. His experience includes international consulting, expansion and acquisitions, market research, brand identity planning, image enhancement, e-commerce and CRM.

He has done extensive work for the foreign ministries of Chile and Norway, the 1994 Winter Olympic Games, UK Department of Trade & Industry, South African Tourism, the Chilean salmon and wine industries, Norwegian seafood industry, Classic Malts of Scotland, Distell in South Africa and also major American brands such as L.L.Bean, Glen Ellen, Sebago and Perot Systems.

He is the author of Celebrate Your Mistakes (Irwin Publishing) and FutureShift 2010 (ICARE, Santiago, Chile), and has been profiled by both CNN and CNBC. He received his B.A. from the University of Michigan, did graduate work at Harvard’s Yen Ching Institute and received an M.B.A. from the University of Maine.

Jon has been guiding the conceptual development of CommunitasOnline since its inception along with former McKinsey & Co. Director of Research, Christopher Samuels. He also is President of Stamell & Associates, a strategic planning and marketing consulting firm.

 

Chris Samuels, CEO

Chris Samuels has more than twenty-five years of experience designing, managing and delivering industrial, customer and product research. Prior to founding CommunitasOnline, Chris was CEO/founder of the Center for Strategy Research and established the firm's strategic marketing and customer segmentation work. He has led assignments with numerous Fortune 500 corporations covering a wide range of industries, including financial and consumer services, healthcare, entertainment, and high technology. Some of his more prominent engagements include John Hancock,, Apple, 3M, NationsBank, Disney, IBM, J.P.Morgan, A.T.Kearney, Bank of America, Fidelity Investments, CARE, Nortel Networks, Charles Schwab, T. Rowe Price, Chase Manhattan Bank, and Intuit.

Previously, Chris directed the Boston Consulting Group’s (BCG) business and technical research facility, Business Data Analysts. This unit specialized in advanced research applications and analytical support for BCG. For two years, he worked closely with Bruce Henderson, founder and Chairman of BCG.

Before working with BCG, Chris, in partnership with Mitsubishi International, was a director of Information for Business, an industrial research firm. There, he oversaw the development of research methodologies while working with the firm's clients on new applications of commercial and industrial research.

Chris began his career in business at McKinsey & Co., management consultants, where he was Research Director and Manager of the firm's largest research facility. His work there involved extensive research design and management as well as responsibility for the development of what became a leading management research facility in New York City.
